Nicolasa Polanco
Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and owner
One room, one patient at a time, and the lamp turned low.
I started Lamplit because the women I knew were all awake at the same hour. They worked days, looked after parents or teenagers, and had no time to be a patient until the evening. So the room opens at four and closes at half past eight.
At every visit I ask about your nights and your days, I check your pulse and your tongue, and I explain what I am about to do. I keep the plan simple and I tell you plainly what acupuncture is unlikely to do. I am not a doctor, and when something needs one I say so.
What I see most
- Waking hot or at 3 a.m.
- A busy mind at bedtime
- Tight neck and shoulders
- Afternoon fatigue

At every visit
What stays the same
Whatever brings you in, the visit keeps its shape.
One patient at a time
No one waits in the next room and no one is booked right after you.
The risks, said first
I explain what I am about to do and what you might feel before any needle goes in.
New needles every time
Sterile, single-use, opened in front of you and thrown away.
Your doctor stays your doctor
I work alongside your care and tell you when something needs a doctor first.
A plan you can say no to
I suggest how often to come. You decide, and you can stop at any time.
Your records stay private
I share them only as the law allows, and only with your say-so.
Come in when the day is over
Tell me when you are free and I will find you an evening.
