Services

Your first visit, in order

  1. 01

Step 1: You book an evening

Use the form or call. I reply the next day and send a short email with the address, parking and what to wear.

  2. 02

    Step 2: You arrive

Ring the bell at the back door. There is a chair in the hall and nobody ahead of you.

  3. 03

    Step 3: We talk

About twenty minutes: your nights, your days, your cycle if you have one, and what you take.

  4. 04

    Step 4: I check

Your pulse at both wrists and your tongue, and I look at where you hold tension.

  5. 05

    Step 5: The treatment

You lie down under a blanket and I place a few fine needles. I explain each step first.

  6. 06

    Step 6: You rest

I dim the lamp and step out for about twenty minutes.

  7. 07

    Step 7: We plan

Tea, a plan for the next visits, and your receipt by email. About 75 minutes in all.

After the needles

Tea, and no rush

When I take the needles out we sit for a few minutes. There is warm tea, a place to put your shoes on slowly, and time to ask anything you forgot. The last slot of the evening ends by 8:30 so there is no one waiting behind you.

  • Tea or warm water

  • No one booked after you

  • Your receipt, emailed

Before you come

What to wear, eat and bring

  • Wear

Loose layers you can roll to the elbows and knees. Socks you can take off.

  • Eat

Something light an hour or two before. Skip alcohol.

  • Bring

A list of what you take, and any questions you wrote down.

  • Leave

Heavy perfume. The room is small and some of my patients are sensitive.

Before the needles

Tell me first

Six things that change how I treat you or whether I do. Say them even if they seem small.

  • If you are or might be pregnant

Some points are avoided in pregnancy. I ask you to check with your doctor or midwife first.

  • If you take a blood thinner

Or have a bleeding disorder. Needles can bleed a little more, so I take extra care or skip some points.

  • If you have a pacemaker

Or another implanted device. I never use electrical stimulation with one.

  • If you have had lymph nodes removed

Tell me which side. I keep needles and pressure off that arm.

  • If needles make you nervous

Say so at the start. We can go slowly, begin with a single needle, or lie down first and talk.

  • What you take

Medicines, hormone therapy, sleep aids and supplements. Bring a list, and tell your prescriber you are coming.
